West Virginia 2017
The group car-caravaned deep into West Virginia near the Ohio border.
Interesting but off topic, we briefly visited Point Pleasant,
which is a point, and it's pleasant. We stopped at Red House in
Eleanor where Union General Scammon was captured - our President, Tom
Moser, grew up in the house. We visited the home of General
Jenkins, the Confederate general who was mortally wounded at Cloyds
Mountain. His replacement was General McCausland. We drove by his 1880s house.
We also made a brief stop at the Buffalo Academy, where the
orphan child McCausland got an education.
